I resisted the invitation for an entire week.  Back and forth my head would shake as I sent him on his way, trailed by three kids who were enthusiastic to participate.  The selfish part of me enjoyed the quiet and stole away to blog or edit or, well, enjoy a bit of quiet.  I heard […]

my husband did P90x and tried to scam me into doing it with him, but after the first week i bailed. didn't like being yelled at all the time. joey and i are doing cross fit after supper (husband belongs to the cross fit gym up at work) with my husband coaching us from his workouts that he did that day. and yes, i can so relate to what you're going through: you know what a big, long time runner i am, but good god, i can barely walk this week!! It's so crazy what working different muscles can do to you, isn't it, Katie?! Sheesh. Thankfully, I'm feeling better this week. I hope you are, too!ReplyCancel

  • Karen, Brian and Lucy - January 16, 2014 - 8:20 pm

omg Summer! I have done P90X as well…and had the same attitude as well (I also am a runner, and hubby has done the p90 thing), and I also was completely wiped and could barely walk after. Too funny! Keep it going girl! ReplyCancel

    • Summer Kellogg - January 20, 2014 - 6:13 pm

Tee hee. Good 'ole Tony Horton. He has a new program that's only 30 minutes?

I'm still in love with Shawn T (Insanity and T25) – I'm doing T25 again. I stopped in September… but I'm going into my 4th week tomorrow. I feel alive. Again.ReplyCancel

    • Summer Kellogg - January 20, 2014 - 6:15 pm

Now that I'm a full week into it. . . I'm feeling better. So nice to be working different muscles. I wondered if you were still doing Insanity. I'm glad you are back at it, Kylee!ReplyCancel

I built it up.  I did.  Really, I should have known better.  I should have known that most things I get excited about don’t typically turn out how I plan.  But still, I talked it up.  I showed pictures, I made my own solution, I even got the help of my oh-so-kind FIL who trekked […]

Love the post – words and pictures! It is true we are not perfect and I think kids appreciate it when we are real and say we are sorry or we messed up. They also get over it a lot quicker then I do!! Well, hopefully he enjoyed the brief time he was at school and now you have another day to enjoy with him!ReplyCancel

    • Summer - January 4, 2014 - 3:03 am

Thank you, Karlene! Ugh. . . they don't tell you these things when they are first placed in your arms, do they? 🙂

We did enjoy our extra day off and I am shamelessly hoping for another. (Just one though. :)) ReplyCancel

Summer, I love coming here…reading your words, taking in your beautiful images. You are human…and you leave it all out there for us to see. Our children don't tally up our mistakes (I'd like to think!)…they remember the hugs, kisses, times spent together, laughter…those are what they hang on to! xo ReplyCancel

I’m sitting down at my desk in semi-silence for the first time in weeks.  December November 2013 was a bit of a whirlwind.  I’m not sure I’ve ever felt a year slip by so quickly.  You know what they say, though. (“They” being people older and wiser than myself.) Every year moves more quickly than […]
