I’ve dreamed about writing this post for years. So many years. It was shortly after I began taking pictures that the dream (or my non-bucket list item) formed. I’ll skip those details for now. Before I dive in, though, I have to say this: There is absolutely no way my words or images can adequately […]

Hooray!!! Summer, you captured NYC so well!! I'm so happy you came and had a wonderful time. It truly is a magical place, and it looks like it enchanted you 😉 PS the way you described NYC as a place of contrasts was spot on!!ReplyCancel

Wonderful, wonderful photos, Summer! I've had the chance to visit NYC twice . . . so far. First, my husband took me up for a b-day weekend to see "Jersey Boys" (best musical EVER!) and the second was when we traveled to listen to our daughter play in Carnegie Hall when she was a high school senior. Both times it was like pulling teeth to get me to go home, and for all the same reasons you wrote about. It is an amazing city, and I so want to go back soon!ReplyCancel

I can't begin to tell you how slowly I scrolled through these photos. I've never been… and I need to go. These photos are incredible. It's so fun to see your perspective in a completely different, and I'm sure inspiring, environment. The extreme difference from the serenity and calm of your everyday life… oh man. I bet it was awesome.

(Chad – way to be awesome. BEST surprise trip ever. Can you email Craig?)ReplyCancel

He’s my first born. The one who made me a Mama. My one and only son. It was with him that I knew ‘love at first sight’ was not just for the movies or the poets. Born in the late hours on the brink of a new day, my heart was ravished by the fierce […]

Happy, happy birthday, Charlie! (And happy BIRTH day, Charlie's Mom.)

I remember your little "shower" with the girls when you were pregnant with Charlie. I remember how cute you were. Oh, and I remember learning his name and how awesome I thought it was. It is. Oh, man… nine years? How?!

The gifts that you are giving your children with this blog… your words… oh man. They'll look back and read them and they'll mean so much. And then throw in the photos that you capture. The love that you have for your children shows its' face in each photo, friend. Each photo. All love.

    Awesome. Just awesome.ReplyCancel

      Thank you so much, Ky!

That seems SOO long ago and just yesterday, doesn't it?

      Sigh. ReplyCancel

. . . until today. We made it.  Our plane landed and I behaved like a giddy school girl as I took in all the hustle and the bustle of the New York City streets.  Upon our arrival we ate hummus with great friends,  looped around Central Park and took in the glorious sights of […]

Yes, Katie, it is so wonderful and proving to be everything I thought it would be. What a magical place!ReplyCancel

I’ve never been a “bucket list” kind of girl.  Well, not in the traditional sense, anyway.  I don’t have a carefully crafted list numbered 1 to 45 written on perfectly lined white paper, folded and placed carefully inside the pages my journal.  I don’t have a list that I add to or subtract from as […]

Have fun on the scary taxi rides in New York City!! LOL! I was only there one day and was driven once by a New York City native in his car and I had a ride in a taxi. They were both very interesting!! The taxi ride was less scary lets put it that way! One more tip. Do NOT dig in the sandboxes in Central Park!!!!! And don't leave your windows open or you will get a layer of dirt dust on everything. I guess that's 2 tips. LOL! Can't wait to see your pictures! I saw a single sheet of newspaper flying around while standing on a balcony 25 floors up!! Crazy view overlooking Central Park from that high though! You are sure to get some awesome photos there but then you always do. Looking forward to seeing New York through your eyes. Have Fun!!!ReplyCancel
