We talked about it for about a week beforehand. We devised the plan, discussed the execution, and made sure that we kept everything under wraps. It’s not like it was the first time we did it. Really, it’s become somewhat of a tradition–we did it here and then again here. They are getting older now, though. They are smarter. Now, they need a plan.
Okay. . . they didn’t work.
Meadow drank milk. . .
No one ever listens to Mama.
Thankfully, it warmed up a bit in the afternoon and Chanelle joined the festivities with a bright smile and enthusiastic attitude.
They worked hard all afternoon and made sure everything was prepared for “The Event”.
Pretty simple, eh?
I received the “on my way home” text at about 5:25 and the kids took action.
Chad drives 25 minutes home from work so there was some (agonizing) wait time.
Charlie played ‘look out’ from the top of the hill and bolted down the hill when he saw Chad’s car. It took seconds for my phone to ding with a text. . .
I married a good man. . .
And the games began. . .
She didn’t find this nearly as entertaining as her big brother and sister. She stood behind me. . .
. . . and cried.
And that’s it. The third annual “Attack Daddy With Water Balloons” event. A simple-mess-making-over-in-the-blink-of-an-eye event. Noteworthy only to us. . .
Have a fun day!

Oh, this made me laugh out loud. Chad's text to you and then the sight of him wandering as if he has no idea what's going to happen up that hill. Perfection. I'm sure the kids will remember this forever. And I love that Meadow thought you all were crazy. Adorable.
LOL, so awesome!!!
